Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-30
SubKiller is a private, local-only iOS app. The plain-language version of this policy is the Private by incapability section on the home page; this is the formal version for the App Store.
What we collect by default
Nothing. SubKiller has no backend. Your subscription list, billing dates, prices, and notes live in a SQLite file inside the app's sandbox on your iPhone. There is no server we run, no API to call, no database we host, and no logs we keep.
What you can choose to share
Anonymous usage events (off by default). If you turn on Settings → Help improve SubKiller, the app sends product-event names (e.g. "subscription added", "paywall viewed") to PostHog so we can learn which flows are working. We do not send subscription names, prices, your email, your Apple ID, or any device identifier we control. PostHog's distinct-id is randomly generated on your device. The toggle ships off; we only collect anything if you explicitly turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time from the same screen.
Purchases
When you buy SubKiller Pro, the in-app purchase receipt flows through Apple and is validated by RevenueCat (our IAP infrastructure provider). RevenueCat receives the data Apple sends with the purchase — your Apple ID, the receipt ID, the product ID, and the purchase date. This is required to honor your Pro unlock. RevenueCat's privacy practices are documented at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we never do
- We do not ask for your bank login. We have no Plaid integration. We do not read your transactions.
- We do not scan your email. There is no Gmail or iCloud OAuth permission.
- We do not require an account. There is no sign-up, no password, no profile.
- We do not sync to the cloud. Your subscription list never leaves your phone unless you export it yourself.
- We do not share data with third parties for advertising. There are no ads in SubKiller.
Children's privacy
SubKiller is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information through SubKiller, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Because SubKiller stores your data locally on your phone, you control it directly. You can delete every subscription record and every preference at any time via Settings → Delete all data. That action is final and immediate — there is no cloud copy to retrieve afterward.
For the small surfaces where third-party data flows do happen (RevenueCat purchase validation; optional opt-in analytics): if you want a copy or deletion of any data those services hold about you, email us at the address below and we'll process the request within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy meaningfully, we'll update the date at the top and announce the change on our marketing site. The current version is always at jorgelameiras.github.io/subkiller-web/privacy.html.
